EARLY PARENTHOOD COURSE
Learn the principles and practices to help you stay connected as you navigate the challenges of early parenthood.
Having a child is typically one of the most hopeful and joyful experiences of our lives. Pregnancy and the first few weeks are often euphoric with an increase in relationship satisfaction.
But, as each new challenge arises, you realize you’re exhausted and overwhelmed. As a couple, you may find yourselves feeling disconnected, resentful, and unsure of how to fix things.
While this phase may be the norm, you don’t have to just endure it and hope to be happy again. With the right tools and support, you can feel more connected and satisfied starting now.
With expert guidance from a professional relationship coach, you’ll learn core principles and practices that you can easily apply throughout the early parenthood phase.
This course will guide you through:
Healthy communication during challenging times
Limited time, energy, and desire for intimacy
Tackling conversations about money
Differences in parenting styles
Avoiding unequal loads and individual burnout
We combine the best of relationship psychology with the understanding of fellow parents.

Whether you're listening solo or doing every exercise together, you'll find relief from the struggle and learn methods to make your relationship thrive on your terms.
In the trenches with you
We give you an expert view based on research-backed principles and proven practices — and every member of our team is also navigating new parenthood.
Effective and fun (but not fluffy)
With engaging videos and an approachable teaching style, we're committed to giving you effective tools through a course you’ll actually want to complete.
This course draws on learnings from my Masters of Psychology, complex trauma therapy training, education from the Gottman Institute and the Couples Institute, and what I’ve seen actually work in hundreds of client sessions — not to mention my own 12-year relationship and raising two young children.
I know it’s possible to leave early parenthood more in love and satisfied than you were before — but you have to understand what you’ll face, have the tools to navigate it, and the safe space to practice under expert guidance.
Aaron has skillfully crafted the BYR curriculum to focus on very relevant topics and exercises that improved our communication and connection right away.”
We offer multiple options to match your needs. All on-demand courses are covered by our 30-day guarantee.
This course was inspired by our partnership with Natural Resources, an evidence-based pregnancy and parenthood 501(c)(3) organization. 10% of all proceeds go to support their incredible work.
Absolutely. When your kid(s) are older, this course can give you a clear understanding of what dynamics fractured your connection and satisfaction, and therefore it gives you actionable doorways to work with any resentment and reroute the patterns that set in during that time. We have had a handful of couples with older kids take this course, some of whom were on the brink of divorce, and for many it was a massive turning point in their relationship satisfaction and saved them from splitting.
The live course takes place over five 1.5 hour sessions. The on-demand course is broken into 24 videos and 8 audio clips which are between 5-20 minutes. If you watched and listened to every single piece of the course, there is about five and a half hours of content. That includes exercises that you can do with your partner, coaching sessions with other couples you can watch, and interviews with Aaron and his wife. The educational lessons total about two hours.
The live course - taught virtually a couple times a year - is taught with educational, discussion, and exercise sections. The educational sections use a slideshow to capture and aid in conveying course concepts. The discussion is free form Q&A and sharing as we go through the material. And the exercises are guided and timed, to do in real-time with your partner. The on-demand course is similar, except for the discussion portion. However, we do offer private coaching for additional support. Each version of the course includes supplementary audio clips and downloadable resources.
Tell them we understand - parenthood is busy enough. "Working on your relationship" often feels like you're going to be pressured into being someone you're not or endlessly talking about your childhood. Not to mention, coaches doing courses are everywhere these days - how can you trust that this is going to be worth it?
There are a handful of things that can make our course different. While we believe diving into both the educational parts and the exercises will give you the best results, you can do whatever feels desirable. You can choose your own adventure and only watch the topics of the areas you're particularly struggling with. You can also decide to watch/listen to the videos separately and then come back to each other for discussion, as opposed to doing the specific exercises together. You can do one topic a week, or one topic a month. We're confident that whatever way you choose to participate, you won't regret doing it.
And we have a 30-day money back guarantee, so there's really nothing to lose.
(Also, if your partner is unwilling to participate, many people have opted to take the course on their own and still report that it was highly transformative, allowing them to make immediate and effective changes in their relationship.)
